Step 1 - Finding the right DJ |
Hiring the right entertainer for your event is probably the most important decision for the successful outcome of your event! So how do you find the right DJ? Some people view DJ's as a commodity and choose the cheapest one they can find, not knowing there are differences to look for. I've heard numerous horror stories of DJ companies that lure in customers with low prices, only to provide an inexperienced disc jockey with poor people skills, an inferior music library, shoddy equipment, and they either arrive late or don't show at all! This page will help you find the right entertainer! It could make the difference between a memorable event and an unforgettable nightmare! |

Tips to finding the Right DJ for you |
Do You Provide A Written Agreement? |
It is very important to confirm your booking in writing. Terms should be clearly defined to avoid future problems.
Our written agreement is iron-clad and was designed by our attorney. It's for your protection as well as ours and assures you that we are professionals. You are free to read our agreement now if you'd like online. We go over it with you, in person and read it with you before you ever put pen to paper. |
Are You Insured? |
Be confident that the DJ you hire will show up for your affair! Insurance will give security & protection to you and your guests, as well as the DJ and his expensive gear!
We carry a 2 million dollar liability insurance policy through the Nat'l Association of Mobile Entertainers (N.A.M.E.) |

Do You Have Backup Equipment and DJ's? |
Even professional audio equipment can fail on occasion, don't let this put an early end to your affair. Make sure there is backup equipment and be sure there is a back-up DJ should an emergency or case of illness occur.
We carry a spare amplifier and now with the inception of the use of computers we have a second computer, our IBM T-23 ThinkPAD and 2 additional 'ghosted" harddrives. Also, and this is important, the DJ you are considering, if they use computers MUST carry all their CDs with them. Windows is not infallable and will crash. We GUARRANTEE that your music will NEVER Stop because we carry all 600 CDs with us to every event.
Finally, if your even it outside, can your DJ guarantee that you'll have power if the power fails? We can!!! We carry a Radio Shack® 300 Watt Power Invertor and plugged into vehicle, we can provide continuous power as long as the gas tank is full. Can any other DJ company do that? |
Is Your Equipment of Professional Quality? |
There is a difference between home audio and professional road-worthy equipment. The equipment a DJ uses should be built to go on the road each and every day!
All our equipmentis professional quality. We use Numark, Bose™, SoundTech and JBL. Our sound is unique and we guarantee our sound quality is second to none. |

Will You Listen To My Music Suggestions? |
Many DJ's are of the opinion that they know what music is best for their audience and won't take requests. The DJ should listen to requests and play them whenever appropriate.
We not only 'listen' to your request to hear certain songs, but we also adhere to songs you DO NOT wish to hear played. You're the client and it's your wedding. The last thing you want is a DJ that is a lose canon. |
Will You Dress Appropriately at My Affair? |
It is important that your entertainer look the part by dressing formal or semi-formal, according to your preference. Themed events and picnics require different attire. |
Will You Play The Music At An Appropriate Level? |
The biggest concern voiced by prospective clients is the volume level of the music. A professional DJ knows to keep the volume at a level appropriate for the guests, especially during cocktails and the dinner hour.
During cocktails and dinner, we assure you that the quality of the sound is the best in the buisiness but, the 'quanity' or volume is designed so that you can carry on a conversation with your guests without having to yell. Consider your reception a fancy restuarant and you 'hear' the music in the background but it is not an annoyance or over powers you.
We have a booth zone feature that allows us to turn down the volume on our separate zoned speakers to insure that you conversations are not interrupted by loud music. Oh and another thing, DJs should play 'appropriate' music during cocktails and dinner and not rock-n-roll or other 'dance' selections. It's important to know that we care about your ability to speak to your guests so that you are not blown away by the insensitive Disc Jockey. |

Do You Do More Than Just Play Music at the Affair? |
Most affairs involve more than playing music. It is important to have a DJ who is capable of playing the music, handling all of the announcements and helps to coordinate the affair.
We do a whole lot more than play music at the affair, but it's not a detraction from our first goal: To perform to the highest degree of a professional entertainer. Your DJ was schooled at the United States Navy School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia. There he learned how to be a professional musician and conduct himself to the highest standards of the United States Navy.
That has been carried over to this business and your DJ performs by playing appropriate music, making introductions and coordinating with the vendors to ensure that your event goes down right the first time. There are no second chances. |

Will You Listen to My Concerns and Input? |
A professional DJ is aware that they can't possibly know every aspect of music and entertainment. Your input and suggestions should be welcome!
Your concern and input are the most important aspect of your wedding right? So why hire a DJ that won't listen to it? We design your event according to "YOUR" wishes. We'll make suggestions based on our nearly 2 decades of experience, but if you want me to play a specific number of songs, not say a word and play directly from the list of music or CD's you provide; that's fine. Remember, its your wedding its done your way!!!! |
